The police are now expediting preparation for the April 9 court appearance of Robert Fowler, the 50-year-old mechanic charged with the murder of Khanice Jackson. They are awaiting the results of forensic tests to confirm whether she was raped before she was murdered
In an update on their investigations yesterday, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of crime, Fitz Bailey says the 50-year-old man has confessed to the murder of Jackson.
According to the DCP, several items believed to be Jackson’s have been found at the man’s home.
Police theorise that Jackson was killed between 7:00 and 9:00 on the morning of March 24, 2021.
According to DCPolice Bailey, Robert Fowler, who is now in custody, claimed that he and Jackson had an argument after he lured her to his home.
Its reported that Fowler got upset and he used a piece of rope to strangle Jackson. A similar piece of rope was found at his house. Bailey added that their investigation has led them to believe that it happened at his home and the body remained there until he returned from work when he disposed of the body using a Nissan Caravan that he drove.
Jackson, an accounting clerk of Independence City in Portmore, St Catherine, went missing last Wednesday after leaving home for work. Her body was found at the Portmore Fishing Village in St Catherine two days later.
