Jamaica on Tuesday recorded 389 new COVID cases pushing the number of confirmed cases on the island since the start of the pandemic to 39,237 cases.
Meanwhile, nine deaths were also recorded, including one person who was confirmed in yesterday’s new cases.
8 of the 9 deaths were males between 54 and 68 years, of which 2 are from St. Elizabeth, two from Westmoreland, two from St. Catherine, one from Portland, and one from KSA. The lone female death is an 82-year-old from St. Mary.
There are now 20,779 active cases with 476 being hospitalized with 52 being moderately ill and 39 critical ill.
In classification of the new cases 6 are imported, 1 locally transmitted and 382 are under investigation.
There are now 124 recoveries pushing the number of recoveries to 17,598.
