Garbage Pile-Up Cleaned along Mahoe Drive, Kingston 11

ROOTS FM NEWS: Members of the Seivwright Gardens Community are delighted to have the area at the corner of White Wing and Mahoe Drive cleaned. For months there was garbage and debris piling up, causing a nuisance in the area.

On Tuesday representatives from the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) along with the councilor for the area Mr. Carl Blake was on hand for the clean-up activity.

Residents say they hope persons would keep the area clean this time around.

Following the clean-up, the NSWMA placed a no dumping sign in the area to prevent persons from disposing of their garbage in there. Councillor Blake said plans are in place for the area to be retrofitted as a flowering garden to beautify the community. He also outlined that a mural will be painted on the wall to echo the message of cleanliness.

When Roots FM News checked later today, work have started to create the garden.
