People’s National Party caretaker for Kingston Central, Imani Duncan-Price, has condemned the incident and has called for increased security measures in the area.

Her call comes after several houses were firebombed this morning and destroyed by the major fire in central Kingston.

The PNP caretaker said she received calls from residents about 5am this morning that their homes were destroyed.

The blaze has impacted several families along James Street and Smith Lane.

Duncan-Pryce gave her assessment of the damage and has urged the Mayor of Kingston and St Andrew Delroy Williams to render assistance to the residents

She also called on the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to deploy social workers to see how best they can assist the residents.

Meanwhile, Mrs Duncan-Pryce said residents are fearful as gangster warned that it not over. She again called the expansion of the Zone of Special Operations for the community
