Tributes continue to pour in for the late Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart who passed away in Miami, Florida on Monday; with Prime Minister Andrew Holness hailing the late hotel mogul as a man way ahead of his time, with “an eye for detail, and [an] ability to market and deliver world class service in any endeavour”.
In a tribute last night, Holness said Stewart was an extraordinary human being with an unwavering commitment to the social good.
Meanwhile former Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, and Opposition Leader Mark Golding, joined in the many tributes pouring in for Gordon “Butch” Stewart last night, with Simpson Miller hailing the hotelier as one of Jamaica’s finest sons.
On Social Media Mrs. Simpson Miller said his family has lost a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His workers have lost their leader and motivator, and so many of us have lost a friend.
She sent condolences to the Stewart family and the extended work family, adding that Jamaica will never forget how he changed the island for the better and positively impacted so many lives.
Golding sent condolences to Stewart’s family, as well as his Sandals, Jamaica Observer and ATL teams.
The Opposition leader said Jamaica has lost one of its most innovative and successful business leaders, and a truly immense figure on the national and international stage.
